Brittany Ball-Snellen (Contributor)

Brittany is currently in her fourth year of her undergraduate studies at the University of Alberta in the art history honours program. She will be starting her master’s degree in September 2014 at the University of Alberta. Her areas of research include representation of the self in 20th century photographic self portraiture and the relationship between photography and art, including the theories of the “aura” as discussed by Walter Benjamin in his essay “The Work of Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction”.

Nicholas Cheveldave (Contributor)

Nicholas completed his BFA at Emily Carr in 2012, currently he is in the second year of his MFA at Goldsmiths College, London.

Rebecca Frerotte (Contributor)

Rebecca Frerotte received her Bachelor of Arts degree (Honours) from Carleton University, Ottawa majoring in Art History. She is currently studying concurrent Masters degrees in Museum Studies and Information, specializing in archives and records management, at the University of Toronto iSchool. Her research interests include Canadian Aboriginal art, collections management, and preventative conservation of recorded information.

Allen Ley (Contributor)

Allen received his Bachelor of Arts with honors in Art History from Carleton University in Ottawa.  He is currently enrolled in the Master of Arts program.  His research interests are art and photographic theory and their intersection with the discipline of memory studies.

Cameron Ralston (Contributor)

Cameron is a current fourth (final) year student at the University of Canterbury School of Fine Arts, studying Graphic Design. His writing has developed through research interests in theories relating to design practice, definition, histories, and disciplinary boundaries—work often testing the limits of varying discourse. The practices of writing and graphic design investigated as separate, yet interwoven, disciplines from which a complexity in context and content can be examined.

Spencer W Stuart (Editor-In-Chief and Founder of Vault Review)

Spencer W Stuart received his Bachelor of Arts degree (Honours) from Carleton University, Ottawa majoring in Art History and minoring in Film Studies. He then went on to complete a Masters at the Courtauld Institute of Art, University of London, where he studied under the direction Dr. Julian Stallabrass. He has been the recipient of the Carleton University Outstanding Student Award and the Courtauld Institute’s Director’s Award for Outstanding Dissertation.

His research interests include media theory, Continental philosophy, and how they relate to post-internet art practice and discourse.

Marianne Williams (Contributor)

Marianne Williams received her Bachelor of Arts degree (Honours) from Carleton University, Ottawa majoring in Art History and Canadian Studies. She is currently studying concurrent Masters degrees in Museum Studies and Information at the University of Toronto, which she hopes to finish in 2015. Her research interests include the alternative material libraries, Canadian contemporary art, fashion theory and urban sustainability.
